Lakeside Village is a sleepy little village with a lot of things to do, and within walking of Woodside.
It is home to the beautiful Lakeside Hotel which has an excellent restaurant and bar, with garden terrace where afternoon tea is served whilst watching the boats go by on Lake Windermere. Also the hotel will hire out electic bikes.
If your on a more limited budget, Oscars tearoom which is upstairs in the waterside building provides an excellent afternoon tea and a simply stunning view down the lake.
The lake cruiser can be taken from Lakeside for a magical trip (dogs go free) around the Lake. One of the cruisers “the Tern” is a steam powered yacht. An experience to enjoy. You can buy a 2 day ticket which allows travel all over the lake
If you want to experience a short trip across the lake the water ferry which plies back and forth between Lakeside and the National Trust park “Fell Foot” is ideal. At Fell Foot park there is a children’s play area, tearoom, shop and rowing boat hire.
The Aquarium of the Lakes is a very interesting visit, with lots to see and do. Children would really enjoy it.
You can experience the world of steam railways with the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam railway from Lakeside and travel back in time, to a slower pace of life. A combined ticket with the cruisers is available.
Backbarrow Motor Museum ( 2miles away) provide a coach from Lakeside to the museum . Vintage, veteran, classic, curious, comic, majestic, weird and wonderful cars! for all to see and a brilliant restaurant at Cafe Ambio. It houses the largest collection of motoring memorabilia in the UK.
Lakeside has so much to offer as well as beatiful walks through the nearby ancient woodland of Great Knott Wood
