“Woodside Cottage is lovely”
Date of Stay

The Cottage is very comfortable and well maintained and equipped with every thing you need for a holiday, we had our 2 dogs with us and there is adequate room for a dog crate in the Front Hallway – they thoroughly enjoyed the garden, the owners were very attentive and provided detailed instructions for everything in the cottage and the surrounding visitor attractions.

Our first wedding anniversary – so a quiet romantic weekend in the lakes was how we decided to help celebrate the occasion. The cottage of course was key to a lovely weekend , and it was perfect , offering all the amenities we wanted. Very comfortable, clean , cosy and in a great location as a base to walk or drive from. When we look for a cottage , we want it to feel home from home , and this did. The wood burner in particular gave it that homely feel. The weekend went fine , despite the worst flooding for years across Cumbria. So very sad for local inhabitants, but it didn’t spoil our stay , and we remained pleased with our choice. Yes we will be back her again sometime.

Absolutely brilliant cottage!

Couldn’t fault the cottage. There were six adults and 2 dogs and we were all so comfortable. The standard of fixtures and fittings was high and everything had been thought of by the owners to make our stay a pleasure.

What a marvelous cottage it delivered everything it said in the description and then some more. The owners Brian and Alison had thought of everything, except the corkscrew to open the bottle of wine they had left for us, but we came prepared so no problem there. Everything in the cottage smacked of quality, no cheap fittings here. Everything worked and the location was peaceful and calming. Close to the sights and shopping of the Lake District with plenty of choice of quality pubs and restaurants with a reasonable distance. I would recommend this cottage to all and I’m certain we will be back in the not too distant future. A big thank you to Brain and Alison for helping our first whole family holiday for many years a resounding success

Dec 2010…..I would highly recommend this cottage. We spent 4 days there over new year and it was fantastic. We had 3 dogs with us and a six month old baby, the cottage provided everything we needed. The location was great with lovely walks at High Dam, which the dogs loved. It was just a short walk to Lakeside to get the boat to Bowness and Ambleside, which are also lovely. When we arrived the cottage had a christamas tree and decorations already set up which I thought was a lovely touch, as we had considered taking one with us. This just shows the care and consideration that the owners put in to making your stay special. My only concern was with this being a cottage it may be a little cold with having a baby with us. This was definatley not the case and it was lovely and warm and cosy.
Thank you Alison and Brian for making our stay so good.

Nov 2010…Had a super weekend at Woodside. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and was very cosy on a winter weekend! The attention to detail makes the cottage a home from home.

Sept 2010….We had a lovely week’s holiday in this cottage. It was exactly as we expected having spoken to the owner Alison who gave us loads of information and couldn’t have been more helpful throughout. The cottage is modern, beautifully decorated, clean and very well equipped. The location is ideal for exploring the South Western Lakes. Our favourite walks were the High Dam and theTom Ghyll. We had Sunday lunch at the Swan Inn and would highly recommend it, the roast beef was the best we have ever had. It is a family pub that welcomes children. The pub at Skelwith Bridge was also really welcoming with nice food. We highly recommend this cottage
